“I walk the Earth in search of a place, EVERYWHERE REMINDS ME OF SPACE.” This lyric from the song "NEON LIGHT" made its way to become the title of this sonic menagerie that took me years to transform into a coherent body of work. With this record I wanted to showcase the beats and spoken word cinematic vision quests along with some tunes I had stashed away in the vault. A little casio keyboard, a maestro echoplex, and my monophonic synths were tracked all over the record in order to keep it together; after all it's only gravity that keeps us grounded.

MONDAY MORNING Good morning Monday morning Your light is shining on me Leaving shadows everywhere I'm out the door without a care Good morning Monday morning Your light is shining on me Good morning Monday morning Leaving shadows everywhere I'm out the door without a care And everyone outside the door Will live their lives And everyone inside the store Will sharpen knives But you won't find me doing that Living easy where I’m at Good morning Monday morning Your light is shining on me Good morning Monday morning Leaving shadows everywhere I'm out the door without a care

MILES UNDER WATER If I had a guitar I’d get farther No better place under the sun Now that I’m here I won't bother you at all I'll just run I'll find a place right by the mountainside I'll follow the trace Of lovely moments far gone When the sun shines on your face It illuminates a goddess to me I'm in the darkness I’m in the shade I'm just a shadow that nobody sees Lover won't you please set me free? If I had a guitar I’d get farther No better place under the sun Now that iIm here I won't bother you at all I'll just run I'll find a place right by the mountainside Where the palm trees surround me And the desert heat grounds me now And my mind sinks beneath me Miles under water

THE SUN WOMAN I was born from the core of the universe In the realm of pure fire Where heat melts, explodes, and gives life Where stars fuse to form andromeda Where atoms cycle furiously to form celestial bodies I am the light that commences the day That provides sustenance to all creatures everywhere on Earth I am the source of all energy I am the mother of all men I am the Sun Woman And your arrogance enrages me You think you are gods? You think you have eaten from the tree of eternal knowledge? You are no different than the birds or the bees you have broken my laws by claiming my throne and destroying the cycle of life on this planet that I have worked so hard to maintain I am the Sun Woman You haven't felt my wrath And you have not yet felt my hottest flame I am the Sun Woman You have forgotten my name I am the Sun Woman Bow to your maker as your ancestors once did Or perish within the purgatory of your own making I am the Sun Woman I am the Sun Woman

PATTERNS OF BEING Everybody is everything And everything is everybody Everybody is everything and more Anything just comes down to its core And every time you lost your mind You've always managed to remember those Patterns of being that make you you And every time you lost your mind You've always managed to remember that Everybody is everything And everything is everybody Everybody is everything and more Anything just comes down to its core We're like lava pouring on the floor Anything just comes down to its core And every time you lost your mind You've always managed to remember those Patterns of being that make you you And every time you lost your mind You've always managed to remember those Patterns of being that make you you

NEON LIGHT 03:58
NEON LIGHT I walk the Earth in search of a place Everywhere reminds me of space I look up to see what’s floating In the air it's quickly going By the Earth it's always turning Like the steaming pot I'm churning Everything in me Everything I see Now I feel the ether moving all around Magic is in the air it's floating from the ground Like bioluminescent dots of neon light Emanating from the sand at night Water is ever moving Constantly pulled by the tide I'm chasing you forever You are the star that I ride Darling dear don't be afraid We'll carve our space on earth All I want to do Is feel alive like you

HOW THE RHYTHM CAME TO BE One bright fine morning my child, being the inquisitive ray of sunshine that she is, asked me this question: How did the rhythm come to be? And I said to her I told her this: One day the gods gathered in a tree and they spent 1000 years trying to figure out how to set themselves free. Life had become all too dreary for the gods. Eons of time made them sick and tired of their immortal all knowingness, sick and tired of the perpetual and instant information that rendered their senses useless They were bored and saddened at the mundane staleness of their infinite wisdom. It made the universe itself an inescapable purgatory trapped inside their heads. So the gods made a pact. And with a special drink made from the core of the Earth they toasted to the complete erasure of every bit of knowledge of every single thought they had ever had. With a drink they would die and be reborn. They would no longer be gods. No longer possess the qualities of godliness: immortality and total control. So they drank and after a slumber of a 1000 years they awoke They had no idea what was going on around them. The cry of the macaw, the roar of the jaguar, the sweat pouring down their faces. They quickly climbed down the tree, found refuge in a nearby cave, and wept. Before: as all knowing gods they could not see, they could not hear, they could not feel because the eons of eternal godliness had numbed their senses to a mushy monotonous drone. But now their new born selves could feel everything. All was a vivid mystery and the sounds were so intense that they danced uncontrollably for what seemed an eternity. The rhythm of the chirping crickets, the rhythm of the howling monkeys, the rhythm of the undulating fire and the rhythm of the flickering stars poured loads of passion into their reawakened hearts. The rhythm had always been there, but the gods had to rid themselves of their godliness to feel it. And thats how the rhythm came to be my inquisitive ray of sunshine. That’s how the rhythm came to be.

SATURN 03:26
SATURN I see the morning light It makes me feel so bright I love you cuz i'm lazy I love you for all time I've awoken from this dream But I am not so sure I love you cuz i'm crazy I love you for all time I love you for all time I hear you call my name It echoes from the past Feel you in my heart now The soul will always last The soul will always last The light it lingers on As we travel through space Saturn is falling quickly Soon its gonna blast I love you for all time

NEW DAY 02:10
NEW DAY The new day begins What will be all depends on you and me How do you synthesize the sunrise? I let the sun rays move me where they may Now I'm everywhere at once Because I feel the sky When I swim in the sea And I hear my own sound When I move with the wave Everything is lovely as I'm feeling all the world I've always known the beauty of today Cuz now is always here So what is there to fear? In the absence of light In the darkness of night My lovers body feels so right Life is beautiful and goes on Infinitely
